SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Lees-McRae's men's basketball team fell to Wofford 81-39 Tuesday night in a physical game played in Wofford's Ben Johnson Arena.
The Bobcats defense held the Terriers to 10 points over the first eight minutes of play, but couldn't get started on offense allowing Wofford to take a 10-0 lead. Sean Hardin scored Lees-McRae's first bucket at the eleven minute mark to make it 10-2.
Lees-McRae (0-2) cut into the Wofford lead with 9:34 remaining in the half when Hardin made another lay-up, but Wofford (2-1) quickly pushed the lead to 20-8 two minutes later.
The Terriers finished the half on a 20-6 run to take a 40-14 halftime lead.
The Bobcats shot 23 percent from the floor and missed their only 3-point shots of the half, while the Terriers shot 50 percent from the floor and 33 percent from the 3-point arc.
In the second half the two teams traded buckets until the Terriers pushed the lead to 41, 62-21, with 10:57 left in the half.
The Bobcats finished the game going 35 percent from the floor, 50 percent in the second half, and 33 percent from behind the arc, 2-for-3 in the second half.  Wofford shot 53 percent overall from field goal range and 40 percent from three.
Jeremaiah Henry and Hardin paced the Bobcats with eight points, and Sam Youse added seven points.  ReShon Benjamin and Stephen Haymer grabbed a team-high four rebounds.
