The All-Rookie team is what http://TopDrawerSoccer.com calls their freshmen All-American teams.
Rex played an integral role on a 49ers team that has been nationally-ranked for the last eight weeks and that earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Last week, Rex became the 21st different 49ers men's soccer player to garner league All-Rookie team honors. Rex enters the NCAA Tournament third on the team with six goals. He was named A-10 Rookie of the Week twice. Rex recorded two goals in 49ers' wins over Winthrop and Saint Joseph's. He scored the game-winning goal in the 49ers road wins over Wake Forest and Saint Joseph's. Rex and the rest of the 49ers nationally-ranked men's soccer team lost to instate foe UNC Wilmington in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday. The game was tied 1-1, but the Seahawks won in penalty kicks 4-1. Charlotte's season ends with a 11-3-6 record. Copyright © 2012, The Watauga Democrat |
