CROSS-COUNTRY
Watauga's Kathleen Mansure will be the lone Watauga representative in the state 4-A cross-country meet this Saturday at Kernersville's Beeson Park.
Mansure qualified for the meet by finishing 23rd in the Western Regional held at McAlpine Park in Charlotte. She finished the course with a time of 19:31. The state meet takes runners from the Top four teams and the Top five individual qualifiers not on those teams.
Celia Jackson was 35th with a time of 20:04 and Lily Weeks was 38th with a 20:15.
Nobody from Watauga's boys' team qualified for the state meet. Michael Holland was the closest when he finished 16th with a time of 16:33, but did not get into the state meet.
Watauga's girls finished eight overall and the boys were fifth.
