Wood finishes 13th in state tournament

PINEHURST — Watauga golfer Savanna Wood shot a second-round total of 80 to finish the two-day state 4-A championship with a 163 Tuesday at Pinehurst 6 course Tuesday.
Wood had an 83 in her first round, and followed with an 80. Her 163 put her in a three-way tie for 13th in the tournament.
Raleigh Athens Drive’s Sarah Bae won a two-hole playoff to capture the state championship with a 152. Ashley Osiecki of New Bern, who also shot a 152, and a second-round low of 73, was second.
Northwestern Conference champion Abbey Hartsell shot an 82 Tuesday to go with her 76 on Monday. Harsell’s two-round total of 158 put her in a tie for eighth place overall.
Watauga’s Mary Seramur shot a 104 Tuesday to give her a two-round total of 214. Tasha Wilson shot her second 109 to give her a 218 for the tournament.
