Weather forces game changes

by Steve Behr Sports Editor

It just may not be in the cards for Watauga's basketball teams to play Fred T. Foard this season.
Watauga's home games with the Tigers were postponed Friday because of inclement weather. No makeup date was announced.

The teams were also supposed to play on Dec. 18 at Foard, but those games were postponed. They were supposed to play last week, but more bad weather forced another postponement.

They'll make up that game on Jan. 30 at Foard.

Watauga's next games are Tuesday at Hickory. The Pioneers have a bye on Friday.

Watauga played back-to-back games Jan. 15-16. The boys' team lost 103-98 in eight overtimes to St. Stephens on Tuesday, but came back to beat Hibriten one day later 59-35.

Watauga's girls' team beat St. Stephens 66-37, but lost 41-39 to Hibriten.

Watauga's swim meet Friday was also postponed for Wednesday at the Hickory Foundation YMCA.
