Watauga girls' tennis team beats T.C. Roberson

ASHEVILLE -- Watauga's girls' tennis team cruised to a 7-2 victory over T.C. Roberson Wednesday.
Five of Watauga's singles players captured victories, starring with No. 1 seeded Meredith Smith. She beat Roberson's Kat Winkenwender 6-0, 6-2.
Meghan Smith added at 6-4, 6-2 victory over Nicole Buffle, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, while Nicole Fox beat Maddie Broce 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Watauga's Kelsi Kanoy added a 6-2, 6-4 win over Claire Weinrib at No. 4 singles and Annika Davidson beat Cara Jansen 6-3, 7-5 at No. 6 singles.
The Pioneers also won two doubles matches. Meredith Smith teamed with Fox to beat Winkenwender and Broce 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. Meghan Smith and Kanoy beat Broffle and Sarah Black 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
Watauga plays at Reagan today.
