Watauga Black beats Spruce Pine 14-7

Watauga Black scored a fourth-quarter defensive touchdown to beat Spruce Pine 14-7 in youth football Saturday at Jack Groce Stadium.
Brian Kellner scooped up a Spruce Pine fumble, broke a tackle, and raced 24 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. Watauga quarterback Andrew Smith ran in the extra point to put Watauga in front 14-7 with 3:51 left in the game.
Spruce Pine drove inside the Watauga 30-yard line, but turned the ball over on downs with 30 seconds left in the game. Watauga did not have to run another play.
Spruce Pine scored the first touchdown and added the ensuing conversion to take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, but Watauga came back in the second quarter with a 59-yard touchdown run by Jackson Harmon. He also ran in the conversion to tie the game 7-7.
