Watauga wasted little time in its 3-0 victory over Mitchell in prep volleyball Tuesday night at Lentz-Eggers Gym.

The Pioneers (7-1) cruised to a 25-8, 25-11, 25-4 win over the Mountaineers. It was Watauga's fourth-straight win after a loss last week.

Channing Hagaman served six straight points in the third game to give the Pioneers a 17-1 lead. She finished with five kills and four digs defensively.

Bailey Hagaman added 22 assists and four digs. Ashlyn Van Dyke also had four digs.

Colby Combs and Anna Church each had six kills for the Pioneers, while Hannah Stewart finished with four kills.

The Pioneers took a 19-6 lead in the first game and never looked back. Bailey Hagaman served three aces in a row that gave Watauga a 24-8 lead. Channing Hagaman picked up the final point of the game with a kill.

After the Pioneers took a 23-11 lead in the second game, Stewart closed out the set with two kills. Watauga scored its final point in the third game on a service error by Mitchell.

Watauga plays at McDowell on Wednesday and then is off until Sept. 9 when the Pioneers play at South Caldwell. It is Watauga's Northwestern Conference opener.
