WHS returns to fields

Watauga's athletic teams go back to the fields after taking a week off from spring break. Now, if the weather can only cooperate.
Watauga's teams have played very few home games since the spring season began Feb. 16. Watauga's baseball team, which has not played a home game the entire season, but host Hickory on Tuesday.
The Pioneers, who played three games in the East Rutherford Easter Tournament, host Hickory in a Northwestern Conference showdown Tuesday.
Watauga also hosts North Davidson in a nonconference game Wednesday.
Watauga's girls' soccer team also hosts Hickory on Tuesday and play at Avery on Friday.
The Pioneers also play a varsity-only game at home against North Buncombe at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Watauga's softball team hosts Hickory on Tuesday and follows with a game Wednesday against border rival Ashe County.
Watauga's boys' lacrosse team returns home Wednesday to face West Forsyth. They play at Matthews Butler on Saturday.
The girls' lacrosse team also hosts West Forsyth on Wednesday and plays at Butler Saturday.
Watauga's boys' tennis team hosts Tuesday and plays at South Caldwell on Thursday. Watauga's golf team plays at Brushy Mountain Golf Club on Monday. Alexander Central is the host.
Watauga's track and field team plays a ninth-10th grade meet at Hickory
