WHS girls' lacrosse team beats Hopewell

HUNTERSVILLE -- After enduring a 10-point loss on Saturday, Watauga's girls' lacrosse team rebounded with a 14-1 road victory over Hopewell Monday night.
Watauga shot out to a 9-1 halftime lead and never looked back. The Pioneers outscored Hopewell 5-0 in the second half.
Watauga got four goals and an assist from Taelor Critcher, who leads the team with 25 goals this season. Ava Moody added three goals and one assist, while Addy Kincaid scored two goals for the Pioneers.
Courtney Kapral chipped in two goals, giving her 16 for the season. Ellie Sloboda scored two goals, while Katie Marks had a goal and an assist.
Watauga goalkeeper Keirsten Henson saved 11 of 12 shots on goal, giving her a 92 percent save percentage.
Watauga's girls' lacrosse team fell 17-7 to Hough Saturday at Leigh Wallace Field.
Hough led Watauga 7-5 at halftime and pulled away in the second half. Watauga got three goals and an assist from Critcher and two goals and an assist from Marks.
Kapral added a goal, and both Sloboda and Carly Moser each had an assist.
Henson had 12 saves.
