WHS boys' track team wins meet

TAYLORSVILLE — Watauga’s boys’ track and field team won its Northwestern Conference meet held at Alexander Central on Wednesday.
The Pioneers finished with 124 points. Alexander Central was second.
Jacob Soule won the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:26. His teammate, Dylan Lewis, was second with a 11:33.
The Pioneers also took the top three positions in the 800-meter run. Ryan Hellenbrand won with a tie of 2:14. Luke Johnson was second with a 2:15, while Matthew Osborne was third with a 2:19.
Watauga also dominated the 1,600-meter run. Josh Anderson won the event with a tie of 4:54, while Michael Holland was third and Brian Brackney was fourth.
Justin Hall won the triple jump with a leap of 36-2, and the long jump with a leap of 17-8. Kenan Foxx was second in the shot put with a toss of 40-3.
