WHS boys' tennis team beats Patton

Watauga cruised past visiting Patton 8-1 in boys' tennis Wednesday afternoon.
The Pioneers (9-2, 6-0 NWC), who stayed unbeaten in the Northwestern Conference, won all of their singles matches in straight sets. No. 4-seeded Will Spinetto and No. 5-seeded Brody O'Neal both won their matches 6-1, 6-0.
No. 1-seeded Landon Taylor added a 6-2, 6-1 victory, while No. 2-seeded Dristen Trate won his match 6-1, 6-3. No. 3-seeded Caleb Gould won his match 6-3, 6-3.
Trate and Lampkins teamed at No. 1 doubles to win 8-5. Watauga also won the No. 3 doubles by default.
Watauga hosts Freedom on Thursday in the final regular season match.
