WHS JV boys handle Alexander Central

Watauga’s boys’ junior varsity boys basketball team claimed a 51-36 victory over Alexander Central Tuesday night at Lentz-Eggers gym.
The Pioneers (14-4, 6-2 NWC) got 16 points from Utah Jones and 11 from Aaron Dobbins. Dobbins also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists. Jones and Caleb Bryson also dished our four assists.
Watauga pulled away by outscoring Alexander Central 16-9 in the second quarter to take a 29-20 halftime lead. The Pioneers eventually took a 40-24 lead in the third quarter on a run capped by a three-point play by Dobbins with 1;59 left in the period.
