WHS JV boys blast South Caldwell

Watauga’s boys’ junior varsity team beat South Caldwell 67-32 Friday at Lentz-Eggers Gym.
The Pioneers (16-4, 8-2) took a 34-13 lead at halftime. Watauga outscored South Caldwell 17-5 in the third quarter to take a commanding 51-18 advantage going into the fourth quarter.
Aaron Dobbins led Watauga’s scorers with 10 points. Lexi Wilcox added nine points, while three Pioneers — Hunter Shore, Harrison Cob and Utah Jones — each had eight points.
Point guard T.J. Poulos dished out five of Watauga’s 15 assists. Watauga outrebounded the Spartans 22-12.
Watauga’s defense held South Caldwell to just 13 field goals from the field and none from beyond the 3-point arc. Watauga also forced 21 South Caldwell turnovers, including 13 steals.
Watauga’s girls’ junior varsity lost 36-33 to South Caldwell Friday at Lentz-Eggers Gym.
