UPDATE: Alexander Central wins 4-A championship

RALEIGH-- Mia Blochaviak had three hits and Alexander Central scored in all but one inning en route to a 10-2 win over Wake Forest-Rolesville on Saturday to sweep the best-of-three state 4-A softball championship series at Walnut Creek Softball Complex.
Alexander Central finished its season at 33-1, the best mark among any of the eight teams competing in the NCHSAA softball championships.
The Cougars were in their sixth trip to Walnut Creek since 1996 and 11th all time to the finals. They have won a total of eight NCHSAA softball titles, four in slow pitch and now four in fast pitch.
Wake Forest-Rolesville, making its third trip to the finals, finished at 20-5.
Bailey Rhoney, who was the winning pitcher in Saturday's game, gave up only three hits. She was named the championship Most Valuable Player.
Taylor Wike and Kiana Millsaps each had two hits for Alexander in a 10-hit attack.

GAME 1
RALEIGH-- Alexander Central blew open a close game with four runs in the seventh to capture a 10-5 victory.
Blochaviak, who entered the finals batting a sizzling .526, went three for four for the winners and scored twice.
The Cougars got three runs in the second inning and two in the fourth to take a 6-1 lead.
Wake Forest-Rolseville closed to 6-5, but Alexander Central scored the next four runs to win the game.
Wake Forest-Rolesville hurt itself with five errors.
