Quick has better second day
by Staff Reports
Things went a bit better for Brian Quick in his second NFL game Saturday night.
Quick, taken by the St. Louis Rams with the 33rd overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, caught three passes for 20 yards in the Rams’ 31-17 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
One of Quick’s receptions was ruled to be a 10-yard touchdown, but was ruled at the 1-yard line. The Rams scored on the next play.
CADET BACK IN END ZONE
Fellow former Mountaineer Travaris Cadet added another touchdown to his credit. Cadet, a running back, scored on a 24-yard touchdown play from Chase Daniel to put the Saints in front of the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20 in the fourth quarter.
The Jaguars scored the final touchdown and claimed a 27-24 victory Friday night.
It was Cadet’s second touchdown of the preseason. A free-agent signee, Cadet also scored a touchdown in his first NFl game against the Arizona Cardinals.
EDWARDS CATCHES TWO PASSES
Carolina Panthers receiver Armanti Edwards caught two passes for 24 yards in the Panthers’ 23-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins Friday.
Edwards, the former Appalachian State quarterback who led the Mountaineers to a pair of FCS national championships, is in a battle to keep his roster spot with the Panthers. He has three receptions for 37 yards in the Panthers’ two preseason games.
Edwards returned two punts for four yards. His main competition in kick returns, rookie Joe Adams, returned four points for 46 yards.
