Pudney has big day for E&H

Former Watauga standout softball player Riley Pudney had a big day for Emory & Henry in a doubleheader sweep of North Carolina Wesleyan Sunday.
Emory & Henry beat North Carolina Wesleyan 2-1 in the first game and 9-0 in the second. Emory & Henry improved to 5-1 on the season.
Pudney got the Wasps off to a fast start by hitting a single in the first inning. She stole second base and scored on a Martha Fluharty single.
Pudney went 3-for-4 in the second game for Wasps, including a two-run double in the third inning. That double combined with a pair of RBI singles by Fluharty and Ragan Halsey, helped Emory & Henry take a 4-0 lead.
Pudney finished the second game with two doubles.
Emory & Henry plays at Salem College in Winston-Salem at 3 p.m., Wednesday.
