North Dakota State beats Wofford 14-7

FARGO, N.D. — Wofford fullback Eric Breitenstein rushed for 135 yards on 24 carries, but the Terriers could not score an offensive touchdown in a 14-7 loss to North Dakota State Saturday in the Fargodome in the third round of the FCS playoffs.
Wofford ran for 262 yards, the most North Dakota State has given up to a team all season. But Wofford could not put the ball in the end zone offensively, which extended North Dakota State’s streak of not allowing an offensive touchdown to 13 quarters.
Wofford reached the North Dakota State 6-yard line with less than four minutes left, but could not convert a fourth down. North Dakota State also blocked a field goal attempt.
Wofford scored its lone touchdown on a 35-yard interception return by Blake Wylie. That return tied the game 7-7 in the second quarter.
Bison linebacker Grant Olson set a school record with 28 tackles. North Dakota State running back Sam Ojuri ran for 72 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Brock Jensen completed 13-of-18 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown to Zach Vraa, who caught five passes for 49 yards.
Vraa’s 16-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter gave the Bison a 7-0 lead.
Wofford outgained North Dakota State, the defending national champions, 326-262. The Terriers completed 6-of-7 passes for 64 yards.
Both teams committed two turnovers.
North Dakota State, seeded No. 1 in the playoffs, hosts Georgia Southern, which beat Old Dominion 49-35 Saturday.
