The Northwestern Conference will be well represented in the 2013 East-West All-Star Games next summer.

South Caldwell's Butch Carter will be an assistant on the West's all-star football team. The head coach of the West is Shane Laws, the head coach at A.C. Reynolds.

Another NWC coach will be in the boys' basketball team. Rob Bliss, the head coach at Fred T. Foard, was selected to be the head coach of the West team.

Bliss took over the Foard program last year.

Though Freedom is no longer in the NWC, Patriots coach Amber Fox was selected to be the head coach of the West girls' team.

Ashe County's girls' basketball coach was the coach of the West team in the July game. Watauga's Alex Fox and Avery's Alex Villanueva played in the all-star football game, while Ashe County's Zeb Richardson played in the boys' basketball all-star game.
