by Staff Reports
The Detroit Free Press reported that former Appalachian State punter Sam Martin signed a contract with the Detroit Lions.
No terms were reported. Martin was drafted in the fifth round by the Lions in the NFL Draft. He'll be available for the Lions' rookie minicamp, which begins tomorrow.
The Lions have signed seven draft picks, including four-round pick Devin Taylor, who signed a four-year deal worth just over $300,000.
First round pick, defensive end Ziggy Ansah, and second round pick cornerback Darius Slay, are still unsigned. The Free Press reported that Slay is expected to sign by Saturday.
