by Steve Behr Sports Editor

Days after being released by the Tennessee Titans, former Appalachian State safety Corey Lynch was signed by the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday, according to several reports.

Lynch, originally a sixth-round draft pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2008, is with his fifth team. He has also had stops with the Tampa Bay Bucs, San Diego Chargers and two stints with the Titans.

The Colts lost safety Delano Howell, who was put on injured reserve Tuesday. The Colts also cut receiver David Reed and tight end Justice Cunningham.

Lynch has 106 tackles, 15 pass deflections and five interceptions in his career. In San Diego last season, he played in 16 games and started four. Lynch had 46 tackles, seven pass deflections and two interceptions.

Lynch was waived by the Titans on Nov. 22.
