Lynch inks with Titans
by Staff Reports
Corey Lynch is back into the NFL.
The former Appalachian State free safety signed with the Tennessee Titans Sunday after safety Robert Johnson was release after failing his physical.
The Titans also signed veteran linebacker Gary Guyton and released defensive end Thaddeus Gibson.
Lynch has played 68 games and started 12 in his five-year career. He was a sixth-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2008 NFL draft.
Lynch has also had stops in Tampa Bay and San Diego. He played in all 16 games and started five with the Bucs in 2010, when he made 24 tackles, picked off one pass and made 18 special teams tackles.
He also played in 16 games with the Chargers in 2012. He made 47 tackles, intercepted two passes and had eight special teams tackles.
Lynch will wear No. 41 with the Titans. He is the 15th former Appalachian State football player to be participating in an NFL camp.
Johnson, a fifth-round pick by the Titans in the 2010 draft, suffered a Lisfranc injury last December after playing in 12 games in 2012.
