GREENSBORO — Watauga’s standout wrestler Demetre Kostis was eliminated from the state 4-A tournament held at the Greensboro Coliseum Friday.

Kostis lost his final match of the season when he was pinned by North Mecklenburg’s Jalen Hill in the second round of the consolation bracket.

Kostis fell in the quarterfinals to Parkland’s Jeremy Ward by pinfall. Kostis, who was the No. 1 seed out of the West Region, finished his season with a 50-2 record.
