Watauga girls' tennis coach Terry Hartley resigned on Monday. Current boys' coach Scott Taylor will take over for Hartley, who leaves five matches into the season.
Hartley will be leaving for personal reasons, according to the Watauga athletic department. The Pioneers are currently 4-1 this season and are coming off the Twin Cities Invitational, where they went 2-1.
Watauga enters a busy week with three matches in three days. The Pioneers host Fred T. Foard Tuesday and follow with matches at Ashe on Wednesday and at Alexander Central on Thursday.
They follow with a match at South Caldwell on Sept. 9 and won't return home until Sept. 14 when they host Hibriten.
Watauga beat Cardinal Gibbons 6-3 in the opening round of the Twin Cities Invitational, but fell to 4-A power Raleigh Broughton 9-0. The Pioneers followed with a 6-3 win over Wilmington New Hanover.
