Eggers sets course standard
by Steve Behr Sports Editor
Jacob Eggers had a feeling
Sunday that he could break the course record at Boone Golf Club after he made
the turn at 18.
He had no idea that he would
shatter it.
Starting at the 10th
hole, Eggers fired a round of 30 after collecting five birdies. By the time he
was finished, Eggers finished with a round of 59, thus breaking the old course
record of 63 by four strokes.
"I thought about it on the
way up and felt I had a chance to shoot 32 on the front nine and break the
record," Eggers said. "I didn't expect to shoot a 29 or a 59."
Eggers gave himself a chance
at the course mark by picking up birdies on holes number 10, 12, 13 14 and 15.
