Chasteen plays in Clash of the Carolinas

Former Watauga goalkeeper Jake Chasteen will play soccer at Appalachian State this fall. He had one final chance to play prep soccer over the weekend.
Chasteen played in the Clash of the Carolinas soccer game at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, S.C. The event pits all-star soccer players from North Carolina against South Carolina.
Chasteen played for a half in North Carolina's 2-1 victory Saturday over South Carolina. He did not give up any goals.
Players who are headed to several college programs, including Appalachian State, Wake Forest, Clemson, Furman, Wofford and Wake Forest, played in the game.
Chasteen, a two-year starter for Watauga, finished with a 34-9 record in goal. He was a three-time all-conference selection and a two-time, all-region selection.
He posted 10 shutouts for Watauga in 2013, which finished 16-5-1 overall, 9-4-1 in the Northwestern 4-A Conference.
Will Greene, who prepped at Marvin Ridge and will also attend Appalachian State this fall, scored the first goal for North Carolina. Ryan Turner added a goal to give North Carolina at 2-0 lead.
North Carolina's girls also claimed a 2-1 victory. Lindsay Kubrick, who is headed to Appalachian State, scored a goal for North Carolina.
