Board of trustees to meet today to approve Fox as coach

The Appalachian State men's basketball program could have a new head coach by the end of the day.
The Appalachian State board of trustees have called for a meeting today at 3:15 p.m. in the chancellor's office conference room of the B.B. Douughtry Adminstration building. On the agenda is the emplyoyment agreement for the men's head basketball coach.
That will be done in closed session. It is the only thing on the agenda.
The board is expected to approve the hiring of Jim Fox to be the new head coach.
He will replace Jason Capel, whose contract was not renewed after four seasons. Appalachian State
finished 9-21 last season and 53-70 overall during Capel's time as head coach.
Fox comes to Appalachian State after being an
assistant coach at Davidson for 13 years. Davidson has a record of 288-130 during Fox's tenure with
head coach Bob McKillop.
