HIGH POINT - Appalachian State's volleyball team opened its 2010 season with a 3-0 win over North Carolina A&T Friday at the High Point Invitational.

It's the Mountaineers first season-opening victory since 2007. Appalachian State won the first set 25-9 and followed with a 25-10 win in the second set and a 25-13 win in the third.

Meghann Forshey finished with seven kills off 16 attempts.

With little time to rest, the team returns to Saturday to face UNC Wilmington and tournament-host High Point. The Mountaineers first match of the day is set for 11:30 a.m. against the Seahawks.
