ASU slips in the polls

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Appalachian State slipped to 15th in the AFCA coaches poll, which was released Monday. The Mountaineers, after falling 38-28 to Wofford Saturday, are 5-3 overall. They are the highest-ranked team with three losses in the poll.
Wofford improved one position to No. 8. Georgia Southern is No. 2, and hosts Appalachian State on Nov. 3.
Eastern Washington stayed on top with a 6-1 record. North Dakota State, the preseason No. 1 team, is No. 3 followed by Montana State, Sam Houston State and Lehigh. Old Dominion is No. 7 followed by Wofford, Stony Brook and James Madison, which slipped to No. 10 from No. 2 following its 35-29 loss to Richmond.

PHILADELPHIA — Appalachian State slipped to 16th in The Sports Network poll, which was released Monday.
The Mountaineers were 13th heading into their game with Wofford.
Eastern Washington is No. 1 in the poll, followed by Georgia Southern, North Dakota, Montana State and Sam Houston to round out the Top 5. Old Dominion is sixth, followed by Wofford, Lehigh, James Madison and Stony Brook.
