Appalachian State's men's basketball team will play the winner of the Samford-Furman game in the second round of the Southern Conference Tournament at 2:30 Saturday at the U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville.

Samford (11-20, 9-9), the fifth seed in the tournament, plays 12th seeded Furman (6-23, 3-15) at 2 p.m. Friday in the first round, also at the U.C. Cellular Center.

Appalachian State (14-15, 10-8 SoCon) clinched the fourth bye into the conference tournament with an 86-60 victory over Chattanooga at the Holmes Center Saturday.
