A.C. Reynolds edges Watauga in 10 innings

ASHEVILLE — Watauga’s baseball team opened with a 5-4 loss in 10 innings to A.C. Reynolds Wednesday night.
Ryder Jones, making his pitching debut with the Pioneers, gave up one run in three innings. Jones also was 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of walks from the plate.
Andrew Miller was saddled with the loss on the mound for the Pioneers.
Offensively, Carson Isaacs and Jesse Illich each drove in a run for the Pioneers.
Watauga’s junior varsity team lost 11-1 to the Rockets.
Watauga is scheduled to play at Mount Tabor Thursday, weather permitting. The Pioneers also play at Ardrey Kell on Saturday.
