William Walter Trivett

Mr. William Walter "Bill" Trivett, 78, of Pine Valley Drive, Boone, passed away Wednesday morning, January 11, 2012, at the James A. Quillen VA Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. Born April 11, 1933, in Neva, Tennessee, he was a son of the late George and June Harmon Trivett. Bill was a graduate of NC State University, retired from Sears, and was the former owner and operator of TNT Small Engine Repair. He was a member of Greenway Baptist Church. Mr. Trivett was a US Navy Veteran, a Mason and member of Ashlar Lodge # 373 AF & AM.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Brown Trivett; four children, Tony Trivett and wife, Paula, of Thomasville, Craig Trivett and wife, Donna, of Banner Elk, Lisa Anderson and husband, Kenneth, of Boone and Steven Trivett and wife, Derena, of Boone; nine grandchildren, Lauren Hicks and husband, Curt, Lindsay Sifford and husband, Timothy, Clayton Trivett and wife, Lauren, Jason Trivett and wife, Michelle, Justin Trivett, McKenzie Anderson, Lana Anderson, Peyton Trivett and Bradley Trivett; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jake and Joseph Hicks, Taylor and Tyson Trivett; two sisters, Geraldine Ward and husband, Bob, of Valle Crucis, and Ava Trivett of Boone; one brother, G. C. Trivett and wife, Karen, of Lenoir; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Jean Greene, and one brother, Millard Trivett.

Funeral services for Mr. Bill Trivett will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Greenway Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor David Luster and the Rev. Harold Bennett. Military graveside services by American Legion Post 130 will follow at the Jont Brown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 222 South Church Street, Suite 336M, Charlotte, NC 28202.

The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Greenway Baptist Church.
