Virginia Brown

Mrs. Virginia Brown, 94, of Burlington died at UNC Hospitals at Chapel Hill on Thursday, June 28, 2012.

A native of Tennessee, she was the wife of the late Jack Maxwell Brown and the daughter of George C. White and Nina Viola League White, both deceased. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington where she was a member of the Women's Circle. Virginia was a former Cub Scout Den Mother. She loved reading her Bible and growing flowers and gardening.

Virginia was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her son, David Maxwell Brown and wife, Tammy, of Burlington; her daughters, Dee Gray and husband, Bill, of Blowing Rock, Jackie Terrell and husband, Richard, of Graham, Gayle Fogleman and husband, Don, Sue Fowler and husband, Winston, and Kaye Adams and husband ,Bill, all of Burlington; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by three half brothers.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brent Terrell, one sister, three brothers and a half-sister.

The funeral service was conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Mike Mitchener. Burial followed in Pine Hill Cemetery.
