Tommie Martin Reece

Tommie Martin Reece, 74, of 658 Highway 67 North, Trade, TN, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Watauga Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born in Trade on Jan. 11, 1939, to the late Martin Luther Reece and Wilma Hazel Heaton Reece. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnnie Reece, as well as two infant brothers.

Mr. Reece attended the Center View Church of Christ, and was a Retired Master Sergeant E-7 in the United States Air Force.

Tommie's survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carolyn E. Wallace Reece of the home; three daughters, Janet Wilson and husband, Danny Ray, Mountain City, Tenn., Debbie Price and husband, Herman, of Trade, and Brenda Grindstaff and husband, Bones, of Mountain City; two sisters, Maxine Michael-Price, of Mountain City, and Margaret Wallace and husband, Larry, of Mountain City; three brothers, Eugene Reece and wife, Elaine, of Boone, Bill Reece and wife, Glenda, of Trade; Gary Reece and wife, Roseletta, of Trade; one sister-in-law, Phyllis B. Reece; grandchildren, Nathaniel Wilson and wife, Lauren, Johnson City, Tenn., Rachel Wilson and fiancee, Jake Osborne, Mountain City,and Thomas and Timothy Grindstaff, Mountain City, Ashley Musick, Bristol, Tenn., Lyndsey Dugger and husband, Jeremiah, Johnson City; great-grandchildren, Faith and Sean Musick, Bristol, and Ava Dugger, Johnson City; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A memorial service for Tommie Martin Reece, with military honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard, will be announced at a later date.

The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trade Community Park, in care of Shirley Snyder, 11136 Hwy 421 S, Trade, TN 37691; Trade Volunteer Fire Department, in care of Roger Brock; or Johnson County Cancer Support Group, in care of Flo Bellamy, 3510 Hwy 421 N, Mountain City, TN 37683.

At other times friends may call at the residence, 658 Hwy 67 N, Trade, TN.
