Russell L. Harmon

Mr. Russell L. Harmon, 80, Sugar Grove, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Glenbridge Health Care.

Mr. Harmon was born Nov. 24, 1932, in Watauga County, a son of the late Ralph Graydon Harmon and Mary Moore Harmon. He was a retired farmer and a life long member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Mr. Harmon is survived by, two brothers, Howard Harmon and wife, Doris, of Fletcher and Edgar Harmon of Sugar Grove; five nieces, Marilyn Byrd and husband, Marvin, of Kernersville, Ladonna Brawley and husband, David, of Charlotte, Marcia Harmon of Fletcher, Alicia Shope and husband, Dale, of Fairview, Andrea Wilson of Asheville; three great nieces, Meghan Woodlief and husband, Byran, of High Point, Melissa Antaya and husband, Mike, of Durham, Jami Byrd of Asheville and three great nephews, Adam Brawley of Charlotte, Matthew Duncan of Central, S.C. and John Wilson of Asheville.

Funeral services for Mr. Russell L. Harmon were conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Antioch Baptist Church and were officiated by the Rev. Daniel Lawrence. The body lay in state, at the church, from 1 to 2p.m.

The family received friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Hampton Funeral Service.
