Ruby Mae Harmon

Mrs. Ruby Mae Harmon, 76, of Trivette Circle, Sugar Grove, passed away Sunday morning, June 17, 2012, at home. Born February 1, 1936, in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Graydon and Pearl Smitherman Harmon. Ruby was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. She was a seamstress and a former employee of Shadowline.

She is survived by one daughter; Patricia Withers and husband, Robert, of Kannapolis; one son, Cliff Harmon and wife, Melissa, of Banner Elk; her former husband, Clifford Dallas Harmon, of Sugar Grove; 8 grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Glenda Trivett and husband, Will, and Mary Johnson all of Sugar Grove, and Wilma Harmon of Boone. She was preceded in death by her parents, Graydon and Pearl Smitherman Harmon; two brothers, Carroll and Stacy Harmon; one sister, Gala Harmon; and one grandson, Jason Treadway.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Mae Harmon will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel.  Officiating will be the Rev. Andy Lunceford. Burial will follow in the Green Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Green Valley Cemetery Fund, in care of Harold Harmon, 269 Council Ward Road, Sugar Grove, NC 28679. The family will receive friends Thursday morning prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
