Pansy Ruth Miller Staley

Mrs. Pansy Ruth Miller Staley, 97, of Elisha Staley Road, Millers Creek, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at the home of her daughter in West Jefferson. Mrs. Staley was born April 26, 1915 in Wilkes County to Vance and Maude Roten Miller. She was a member of Vision Baptist Church in Millers Creek.

Mrs. Staley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elisha Staley; one sister, and four brothers.

Surviving are four sons, Elisha Paul Staley and wife, Elizabeth, of Winston Salem, James Thomas Staley and wife, Terry, William Billy "Bill" Staley and wife, Michelle, and John Mark Staley and wife, Melanie, all of Millers Creek; four daughters, Ray Dell Staley Greene of Deep Gap, Mary Sue "Susie" Staley Blevins of West Jefferson, Peggy Diane Staley Church and husband, Charles, of Millers Creek, Virginia Dare ยก"Jinny" Staley Shulenberger and husband, Terry, of Woodleaf; twelve grandchildren, David Staley, Van Staley, Freddie Blevins, Jeff Staley, Shawn Staley, Matt Bare, Sherri Davis, Marie Lavender, Melissa Neaves, Denise Gentry, Michelle McKenzie, and Caitlin Staley; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and three sisters, Florence Taylor, Raye Faw, and Reba Absher.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Miller Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Plato Shepherd and the Rev. Homer Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Staley Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service and other times at the home of Tom and Terry Staley, 184 Bill Parsons Road, Millers Creek.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Ashe, PO Box 421, Jefferson, NC 28694. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
