Nettie Rogers Hampton

Nettie Rogers Hampton, 80, of 140 Deer Street, Boone, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at her home.

Mrs. Hampton was born March 5, 1932, in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Henry Turner Rogers and Viola Winkler Rogers. She was a retired processing clerk for IRC/TRW in Boone.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert H. Hampton of the home; her daughter, Lu Anne Alion and husband, Dan, of Charlotte; two grandsons, Tyler Alion and Bradley Alion, both of Charlotte; her sister, Shirley Triplett and husband, Lee, of Boone; and her brother, H. T. Rogers of Boone. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry W. Hampton, and two sisters, Joyce Rogers and Betty Sue Cook Gamble.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Rogers Hampton were held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Middle Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Potts officiating. Burial followed at Mount Lawn Memorial Park.

The family received friends at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
