Nancy Sheffield Barbosa

Nancy Sheffield Barbosa, 77, of Charlotte, and Inverness, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.

She was born on Feb. 20, 1936, in Sugar Grove. She was the daughter of the late William & Vergie Gryder Sheffield and the wife of the late Jesus "Freddie" Barbosa.

She attended Cove Creek High School and was retired from the Citrus Memorial Hospital of Inverness, Fla., where she was an Emergency Room Technician. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed crocheting and post card collecting.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Pamela Shearer and husband, David, of Charlotte, and Sharon Forcey of Cumming, Ga.; three granddaughters, Julie Leduc of Fort Bliss, Texas, Morgan Forcey of Cumming, and Megan Forcey of Cumming; two sisters, Faye Sheffield Brown of Boone, and Dollie Sheffield Baird of Mountain City, Tenn. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Sheffield, Roscoe Sheffield and Hubert Sheffield (infant), and three sisters, Irene Sharpe, Christine Gendreau and Myrtle Lawton.

All services for Mrs. Barbosa will be private.
