Nancy "Joann" Jones Moretz, 74, of Connelly Springs Road,
Lenoir died Oct. 03, 2012.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer Moretz; a son, Gary Moretz; a grandson, Adam Thomas Moretz; his mother Teresa; and sister, Morgan Ann; three sisters, Mabel Brown of Virginia, Ivalee Hayes and husband, Lee, Brenda Gragg and husband, Johnny, of Boone; a brother, Clyde Jones and wife, Nancy, of Boone. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Marie Jones and Georgia Jones; a number of nieces and nephews, and two special sisters-in-law, Ruth Ellen Shaver and husband, Robert, of Independence, Va., and Pauline Eldreth of Boone.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Wade Moretz; her father and mother, Tom and Carrie Jones; a sister, Stella Mae Jones; four brothers, Chester, Lester, Kenneth and Bobby Jones, and an infant baby Jones.
Funeral services for Mrs. Moretz were held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 05, 2012, in Pendry's Chapel with the Rev. Ed Ford officiating. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family received friends prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.
The family respectfully requests ,in lieu of food, that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
