Myrtle Belche Hedgepeth

Myrtle Leigh Belche Hedgepeth of Castalia, 91, died Nov. 1, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Copeland Belche and Jesse Belche of Rich Square. She was born on Sept. 5, 1921. She graduated from the Rich Square High School and East Carolina Teacher's College. She taught at Castalia Elementary and then Nashville Elementary School until her retirement.
Mrs. Hedgepeth was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, F.A. Hedgepeth, Jr; four sisters; Jessie Helen Belche, Bernice B. Benthall of Rich Square, Hazel B. Pate of Angier, Ruth B. McDaniel of Woodland; three brothers, Vernon C. Belche, Robert L. Belche of Rich Square and Felton E. Belche of Castalia.
Survivors include her three daughters, Mary Alice Smith and husband, Jim, of Vilas, Van Delia Reese and husband, Steven, of Catawba, and Susan Lucas and husband, J. Wayne, of Nashville;  nine grandchildren, James Blake, Amy Leigh and Patrick Smith of Vilas, Matthew Reese of Catawba, Kristen Teague and husband, Jeremy, of Claremont, Mary Leigh Creedon and husband, Bryce, of Morrisville, Elizabeth Abigail, Jeffery and Brittany Lucas of Nashville; three great-grandchildren, Simon, Andrew, and Kyrah Teague of Claremont; and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank each and everyone of the staff of Autumn Care of Nashville who gave their care, love and support, not only to Myrtle but, to her family. "To Dr. Bello and Marie Stone, thanks for your care of our Mom also. We truly appreciate all that you did for each of us."
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov.3, 2012, in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery of Nashville.
