Minnie Viola Rominger James

Minnie Viola Rominger James, 93, of Lenoir, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on September 2, 2012, at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care.

She was born, October 29, 1918, in Watauga County to the late James Rominger and Florence Harmon Rominger. 

Mrs. James was a faithful member of East Flat Baptist Church.  She loved her church family, gardening and enjoyed being able to spend time with her family.  She dedicated her life to the care of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. James; two daughters, Peggy Bowman and Valerie Bowman; one son, Clifford James; one grandson, David Bowman; two brothers, Roy Rominger and Arnold Rominger; and one sister, Jimmie Gilliam.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth L. and Nancy James; her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Barlowe Hollingsworth and Ed, all of Lenoir; one brother, Alfred, and Pauline Rominger, of Boone, N.C.; and one sister, Edna Matheson of Roxboro, N.C.  She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services honoring Minnie will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at East Flat Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Claude Suddreth and the Rev. Sam Craven officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Todd James, Jeffery James, Rick Bowman, Mark Barlowe, Tim Bowman, and Mike Bowman.  Honorary pallbearer is Mickey James.

The family will receive friends at Pendry's Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
