Margie Murphy Frank

Margie Murphy Frank passed away on March 25, 2013, in Naples, Fla., after a brief illness.

Born on August 6th in Claremont, she is predeceased by her parents; 10 brothers and sisters; and two adoring husbands, William Murphy and Rudy Frank.

Margie is survived by her loving and devoted sons Bill Murphy of Atlanta, Ga., Len Murphy of Banner Elk, and Wayne Murphy of Naples; her stepson Randy Fran; two step-grandsons, their wives and children. Along with many nieces and nephews she leaves behind many dear friends in Florida and in North Carolina.

Gifted by God, with a beautiful voice and a lovely smile, she sang during the Big Band Era at many resorts in Breezy Point, Minn., and at the Hollywood Beach Hotel. A devout Christian, she also sang in her church choir, often as a soloist. She was a past member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont, Davidson College Presbyterian Church and a member of The First Presbyterian Church in Boone and Moorings Presbyterian Church in Naples.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Moorings Presbyterian Church, 791 Harbour Dr. Naples Fla. A reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Boone, 131 Big Valley St. Boone, NC 28607, Moorings Presbyterian Church, 791 Harbour Dr. Naples FL 34103, or to a charity of one's choice.
