Leota Goulds Triplett

Mrs. Leota Goulds Triplett, 83, of 668 Dogwood Road, Boone, died Thursday afternoon, September 6, 2012, at her home.

Mrs. Triplett was born July 18, 2012, in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Willard and Nellie Pitts Goulds. She was a homemaker and a member of Bibleway Baptist Church.

Mrs. Triplett is survived by two sons, Larry Triplett and wife, Shelia, and Sidney Triplett and wife, Gayle, all of Boone; two daughters, Rebecca Triplett Thompson and husband, Donald T., and Roberta Triplett Pitts and husband, Ron, all of Boone; one sister, Phyllis Goulds McBride and husband, James, of Hickory; and one brother, Melvin Goulds and wife, Carol, of Lake Wales, Fla. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Triplett, and one sister, Marjorie Goulds Greene.

Funeral services for Mrs. Leota Goulds Triplett will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Bibleway Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Greene. Burial will follow in Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens.

The family will receive friends 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, at Hampton Funeral Service.
