Kathleen Winebarger Phillips
Kathleen Winebarger Phillips, 92, of Conway, S.C., a native and former resident of Boone, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Conway Medical Center in Conway.
Mrs. Phillips was born Jan. 31, 1921, in Ashe County, a daughter of the late Finley Miles Winebarger and Bessie Phillips Winebarger. She was a retired food service employee for Appalachian State University.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by three sons, John Seagle and wife, Lucy of Cherryville, Larry Seagle and wife, Debbie, of Poway, Calif., and Victor Seagle and wife, Tammy, of Conway. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Blaine Phillips; one son, David Seagle; one brother, Victor Winebarger, and two sisters, Georgie Phillips and Mildred Greer.
Funeral services for Kathleen Winebarger Phillips will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Rutherwood Baptist Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 1 to 2 p.m. Officiating will be the Reve. Gary Lawrence and Jeff Seagle. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, at the church, prior to the service.
