Joann Hardin Moody

Joann Hardin Moody, 88, formerly of Bluff City, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living in Boone following an extended illness.

She was born in Sullivan County, Tenn., to the late John and Sally Hinkle Hardin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Paul Moody; three sisters, Nell Buchanan, Flonna Hardin and Nanny Hardin; and one brother, John Hardin, Jr.

Mrs. Moody was a member of Mount Holston Baptist Church, Bluff City.

Survivors include a daughter, Johanna Eikeland of Boone; two granddaughters, Kathryn Powell and husband, John Neal, of Asheville, and Karen Ginn and husband, Mark, of Boone; six great-grandchildren, Johanna Powell, William Powell, Katelyn Powell and Megan Powell all of Asheville, Sidney Ginn and Justin Ginn both of Boone. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. Joann Hardin Moody will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City with the Rev. Ray Hardin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service in the Bluff City Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home.

The graveside service and interment will be Saturday, June 29, 2013, following the funeral service in the Sunrise Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be sons-in-law, grandsons and nephews.

The Moody family would like to give a special thank you to Medi-Home Health Hospice Group and Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living staff for their loving care given to Mrs. Joann Moody.
