Jimmy Boyd Brown

Mr. Jimmy Boyd Brown, 47, of Lenoir, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at his home.

Born on Oct. 19, 1964, in Caldwell County, Jimmy was the son of Jeanette Phillips Brown and J.B. Brown. Jimmy had his associate degree in Computer repair and loved helping to fix them for people. He worked with the Salvation Army and helped mostly with the Salvation Army Shelter Home in Hickory. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Turner and Katheryn Phillips; and his paternal grandparents, John Smith Brown and Gladys Brown.

Survivors include his parents, Jeanette Phillips Cobb, husband, Jerry, of Lenoir and J.B. Brown, wife, JoAnne, of Hudson; a sister, Janie Smart, husband, Maxwell, of Hildebran; a half sister, Amanda Marie Brown of Granite Falls; a niece, Ashley Brooks Story of Valdese; a nephew, Corey Joseph Smart of Hildebran; a grand niece, Jasmine Brooks Story of Hildebran; he is survived by numerous other relatives and his Salvation Army family.

A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 12 to 1 p.m.

Memorials can be made to the Salvation Army Shelter Home in Hickory.
