Helen Waters Triplett

Mrs. Helen Waters Triplett, 92, of 3381 Elk Creek Road, the Triplett Community, Deep Gap, died Thursday morning, February 2, 2012, at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation in Boone.

Mrs. Triplett was born November 3, 1919, in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Conley and Ila Triplett Waters. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Ephriam Baptist Church.

Mrs. Triplett is survived by one son, Wayne Triplett and wife, Kathy, of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Geraldine Woods and husband, James, of the Triplett Community, and Josie Watson and husband, Riley, of Lenoir; one daugher-in-law, Kim T. Davis and husband, Glenn, of Boone; one sister, Susie Triplett of North Wilkesboro; five granddaughters, Debbie Triplett Aston and husband, Winston, of Jacksonville, Florida, Pat Triplett Locklear of Winston-Salem, Kim Triplett of Jacksonville, Florida, Annette Woods White of Morganton, and Hannah Triplett of Boone; four grandsons, Micheal Watson and wife, Paula, and Dusty Watson, all of Lenoir, Seth Triplett, and Shane Triplett and wife, Keana, all of Boone; and seven great-grandchildren, Ginnie Triplett and her husband, John, Avery Locklear, Jamie Woods, Carley Watson, Weston Watson, Kasen Triplett, and Chance Triplett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Clinard Triplett; one son, Dwayne Triplett; and one brother, Richard Jones.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Waters Triplett will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Mount Ephriam Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Kenny Newberry and the Rev. Rick Critcher. Burial will follow in the Simmons Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at Hampton Funeral Service.
