Helen Irene Goble Cook, 73, of Conover, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Frye Regional Medical Center.

Born May 24, 1938, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Goble and Ruby Houston Goble. She was a life long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Conover and worked at Southern Glove Company as a sewer. Helen enjoyed life and took special pleasure in shopping at the mall and Wal-Mart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Cook; and brothers, Leroy Goble and Gary Paul Goble.

Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Cook of Conover; brothers, Ray Goble of Conover, Richard Goble and wife, Rita, of Conover, Donald Goble and wife, Rita, of Conover; a number of nieces and nephews; and her dogs, Missy and Daisy.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. with Rev. Paul D. Birner and the Rev. Matthew Schilling officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the service.
