Harvey L. Trivette

Harvey L. Trivette, 85, of Jefferson Road, Boone, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 6, 2013, at Watauga Medical Center.

Mr. Trivette was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Watauga County, a son of the late David and Elizabeth Rominger Trivette. He was a retired manager for the Winn Dixie Grocery Company and a member of Proffit's Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Trivette served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Mr. Trivette is survived by his wife, Stella Hodgson Trivette of the home; one daughter, Dottie Morsette of Boone; three sons, Mike Trivette and wife, Brenda, of Boone, Danny Trivette and wife, Bonnie, of Cary, and Allen Trivette and wife, Jane, of Boone. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services for Harvey L. Trivette were conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at Proffit's Grove Baptist Church. The body lay in state, at the church, from 1 to 3 p.m. Officiating was the Rev. Delmar James and the Rev. Herbert McCoy. Military graveside rites and burial, provided by American Legion Post 130 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 90, followed in Meat Camp Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends 1 to 3 p.m., at the church, prior to the service. At other times friends may call at the residence, 583 Jefferson Road, Boone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
